What we are looking for: WINMAR® Property Restoration Specialists – London is seeking an experienced General Labourer. Must be an outgoing, personable individual with excellent customers service skills. Detail oriented with the ability to follow instructions and ensure tasks are being completed correctly and efficiently.
Position Overview: The General Labourer position can include (but is not limited to) restoration activities including demolition, cleaning, emergency flood service, restorative drying, fire and smoke damage cleaning and deodorization, content cleaning, pack out and storage and other specialized cleaning both on site and in the warehouse.
Job Duties:
- Perform activities including light repairs, demolition and general cleaning as needed
- Ensure work is completed according to measurements, specifications, drawings, plans or other production materials/instructions
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may, or are affecting completion of job to the appropriate person
- Perform Water / Flood and Contents duties as required
- Participate as directed in the following activities:
- Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
- Maintaining vehicles in clean serviceable condition
- Constructing polyethylene enclosures
- Removing and disposing of debris
- Maintaining equipment
- Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
- Provide excellent customer service
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
- Comply with all WINMAR® policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
- This role could be required to act as a “lead” periodically as designated by their manager
- Attend all WINMAR® sponsored training courses
Qualifications:
- Construction / Restoration / Insurance experience preferred
- Forklift Certification considered an asset
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per WINMAR®’s vehicle policy
- Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer and/or tablet/iPad experience
- Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
- Periodic travel may be required

Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
- Access and mobility in tight spaces
- Fit Testing – half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required
- Working at Heights – over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
